Pottawattomie Country Club is located near the beautiful Indiana Dunes, just five minutes from Lake Michigan, in Michigan City, Indiana. Featuring the beauty of the Dunes area and the four changing seasons, Pottawattomie Country Club truly does offer something for everyone.
From challenging golf to exquisite dining and a beautiful new pool, all matched with fun club activities, Pottawattomie Country Club offers its members a season full of enjoyment!
Founded in 1909 as a 9-hole golf course by Norton Barker and designed by Tom Bendelow. The Club expanded to 18 holes in 1966 under the supervision of Dr. William Hall, Jr. and Robert Simmons.
In 2006, the new clubhouse was built, followed by the pool in 2007. These latest enhancements allow members and their guests a truly memorable time at the Club.
Golfers enjoy 18 holes of natural beauty including hundreds of towering oaks and maples lining the fairways, and Trail Creek weaving through several holes.
Other Club amenities include a driving range, outdoor concessions, exquisite dining featuring fabulous golf course views from the lounge & dining room, two outdoor dining venues, and a fully-stocked pro shop with trained golf professionals ready to serve your every need.

Resident Golf Professional
Mike has been serving Pottawattomie Country Club as its PGA Golf Professional since 1991.
A native of Michigan City, Mike has been a member of the PGA of America since 1993. He provides professional golf club fitting for Titleist, Cobra, Ping and Callaway. Professional golf lessons are always available to those interested in improving their game.

Kay started as Controller on February 26, 2013. Kay was Controller for Sager Metal Strip Co for 7 years. Prior to that, she was the Office Manager and accountant for Stranco Inc. for 16 years. Kay spent 13 years at Horizon Bank in the 1970’s and 1980’s.
Kay is a native of Michigan City and graduated from Elston Senior High School.
Kay received her accounting degree from Purdue University North Central in 1995.

Tom Goodwin, CGCS
Tom became Superintendent at Pottawattomie Country Club in 1999, coming to us from north-central Michigan where he was the Course Superintendent at Eagle Glen Golf Club for five years.
Tom has over 25 years of golf course maintenance experience. He graduated from Vincennes University with a degree in Horticulture, and from Holy Cross College with a degree in Business. He became a Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS) in 2000.
Tom lives in La Porte with his two beautiful daughters, Taylor and Alexandria.
Chef Rick has been with Pottawattomie Country Club since 1989. Originally from Chicago, Rick moved to Indiana in 1984 to work as sous chef at the Spa Restaurant. He received his first taste of the restaurant business as a 14 year old bus boy at Zum Deutschen Eck, a famous German eatery on the north side of Chicago.
Chef Rick attended Washburn Trade School, graduating in 1980. He continues his education today with regular courses at the Culinary Institute of America. Asked what his favorite part of being chef at Pottawattomie Country Club is, Chef Rick replied "The willingness of the members to try new ideas."
